Triaxial Weaving

Old images

If you are looking for more basic triaxial weaving patterns, first see the introduction.

Filled triaxial weave

This fabric is sparse. Its relative density is about 1.2, though the figure depends on the angle used - which can be varied. The fabric is almost free from holes, if the angle between the fibres is sufficiently small. This fabric is not very isotropic, though - most of the fibres tend to point in roughly the same direction.

Sparse triaxial weave (distorted version)

This picture shows the previous fabric with the blue elements removed. Its relative density is about 1.0.
